KeymasterHi Claire, I don’t use any apps but I seem to hear more about Plantnet than others (when I am on walks and people take photos and check the IDs). Not always reliable but maybe worth a try.

KeymasterHI Terri and Yuki, How is the Rosemary coming along?
I found my huge Rosemary bush, at the front of my house, is suffering from Rosemary Beetle again this year. So I have many days of picking them off, ahead of me! I made a little video with my daughter about them a few years ago in case of interest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzb2B-juPhsLynn
KeymasterThanks Yuki – Yes to all!

KeymasterThis is great Terri, Thanks for posting – That is a great database! How are your special seedlings coming along? I found a Brugmansia this week, in Intratuin, so it is looking happy on my daughter’s balcony with lots of flower buds.

KeymasterHi Harriet, Great to see you have posted this here. We spoke about this a little, in person but your research is so interesting! I am intrigued to see how it develops for you. I hope more people in the world will open to listening/feeling/living the interconnectedness of the components of the planet – They have so much to tell 🙂

KeymasterHi Rebekka, The park rangers (Boswachters) here have started to publicise that foraging the quantity which would fit into a small mushroom tub, is a tolerable/more sustainable amount. That is good to see and indeed, we could certainly be in a lot of trouble if caught foraging in a national park..
Lynn
KeymasterThis is a lovely way to manage it Rebekka. I am also quite satisfied by a little foraged food, in one way or another, daily. It keeps us all connected to the land and seasons.

KeymasterHi Rebekka, This is a wonderful plant! Yesterday, I led a walk in Park Frankendael and can tell you that we have a lot there, currently in flower – the white and purple and in between – if you want to harvest in some quantity that could be challenging in your local park. They are in the Nettle Orchard – so the orchard closest to the terrace of Merkelbach Restaurant. The purple flowers are also the most dark-bright I have seen them in many years. This seems to be a very good Comfrey year.

KeymasterHi Gea, Your homeland certainly has a rich history of foraging and indeed 1kg is already a lot! Have you seen the Italian documentary called The Truffle Hunters (in English)? I watched it recently and loved it – certainly sad evidence of greed in the film but also such wonderful connection to nature from other characters. Apparently the film is available here: https://www.pathe-thuis.nl/film/33758/the-truffle-hunters

KeymasterHello Gea,
What a lovely picture of Stinging Nettle through your life! This sounds like the perfect plant ally for you 🙂 As I write this, I am sipping a cleavers and stinging nettle tea, and had a handful of fresh stinging nettle in my morning smoothie. It is such a wonderful, rich, grounding and nourishing plant. I would find it difficult to be without it. Success with your plant ally work. I look forward to seeing it develop!Lynn
KeymasterGreat notes about Rose Yuki, thank you! I added a splash of rose tincture to a bottle of motherwort tincture last week. It is so subtle but so present in the mix and is very holding, loving and heart empowering. There is nothing quite like the rose!

KeymasterHi Yuki,
Do you ever get to Beatrixpark? There is an area of apothecary’s rose inside of the Begijnhof (the old formal herb garden near the children’s pool). I visit fairly often and covet those roses as I don’t grow any of that type.Lynn
KeymasterHi Camille, How is the vinegar infusion coming along now? Have you tried it yet? Your herb combination sounds really tasty, would be great in a hair rinse, as well as food.
Lynn
KeymasterHi Yuki,
Rosemary is a really magical plant and I have a huge Rosemary plant outside of my front door, if you would like a few cuttings. I planted it many years ago in my geveltuin and many of my neighbours enjoy some in their cooking. Let me know if you would like me to cut some or come by anytime and take some.Lynn
KeymasterGreat Yuki – Again, step by step and teas are great way to start incorporating more wild food into your diet and body.
