I live in the Oud West – where there is not much of a foraging opportunity that I know of. The city centre is so heavily used and busy with lots of cars and pollution so I would never think to forage near my home.
Foraging is illegal in the Netherlands, but I have heard there are areas where it is “acceptable”/”tolerated”. It is not very popular amongst any of my friends (many of them don’t even know it is a “thing”), but I love being surrounded by this new group of people who all have this shared interest!
I suppose my main experience of foraging would be inside of the community garden I volunteer in Osdorp – as there are some small wild areas inside the garden where we can pick things such as Nettle and Elder, and we always get some wild things pop up in the garden that were not planted such as wild rocket and dandelion!
