Hi all! I have a sunny, yet windy, balcony that is facing south (need to confirm with a compass, hehe). I am also thinking about using my bedroom window sill (same direction as the balcony), my kitchen counter and create a vertical pot planter wall in my kitchen.
ATM, I have 3 Geranium, 3 (drying/dying again after 3 months in the big pots) Lavender, Aloe Vera, Valerian (not 100% sure it’s valerian 😉) and a small dry catnip.
Last summer everything I had in the balcony died, except for the mother geranium. The current 3 ones are propagated from cuts family.
And this is the (maybe too ambitious) list of herbs I would like to forage/swap/buy:
• Purslane
• Coriander
• Parsley
• Oregano
• Marjoram
• Mint
• Lemonbalm /Melissa
• Dill
• Nasturtium / Tropaeolum – Tropaelum majus L.
• Mallows
• Calendula
• Chamomile
• Lemongrass Cymbopogon
• Spring Onion Allium fistulosum
• Citronella Cymbopogon winterianus
• Rosemary
As my balcony will be the main spot where I would like to have my herbs, I think I need to do a plan and get to know better what can actually survive there and what should be kept inside of the house instead.
