I am sharing my findings on the Rosa gallica.
I found interesting to find out that it is believed that this rose was spread throughout Europe by the Crusaders in the Middle Ages. So a long time ago already. And by then the healing properties of the plant were already recognized. Giving it the name ‘officinalis’ (meaning, medical)
About my uses:
I use rosepetals in my mix of herb tea, for flavor, color and smell.
I use rosewater as a subtle perfume on myself and in my house.
I like to eat the bigger rose hips as a kind of fruit, just fresh.
As a kid we used to be quite mean and when we were in a fight we smeared the inside of rose hips on each other, so nasty!
