Hey everyone!
I’ve recently only moved to Amsterdam from Ireland and am currently living out in Amsterdam West, near the World Fashion Centre.
My impression of this area so far is that it’s very residential – whilst there’s attempts at greenery, there’s nothing close to the forests I’m used to at home.
I do love how close we are to Vondelpark, Rembrandtpark and Oeverlanden, but after reading the first few units, I’m concerned about how healthy these spots would actually be to forage from – I’m really interested to find out what areas near me would be good!
(I also love the area of helping bring areas along – my personal interest is in soil quality, so the idea I could help the soil near me makes me so happy!)
I was also SO surprised foraging isn’t legal here – I understand the why, but it also felt so odd to me that there could be legal implications for using nature this way. Foraging is fairly common back home, so that was a real eye-opener.
Really looking forward to this course and everything I’ll learn!
