Great to see you here and lovely to meet you at the workshop yesterday. Flevopark is such a lovely place and sometimes I will forage there. The lake sludge is indeed said to be toxic, by the Gemeente. The land itself, I am unsure spot-by-spot, but that park is certainly within the zone of not so clean land. Zone 6 sweeps all around Amsterdam, and the Vondelpark sits as better quality land, surrounded by Zone 6.
Here is the intro of the linked document about Zone 6:(Dutch then English from Google translate is below). YOu will see quite a vague statement really. Personally, I see some too-big herbs there at times (Flevopark), and I don’t feel the urge to forage much from the place. I took some Elderflower in 2023, that was good, but the urge to forage a lot there is not there for me. So if you do, pick very lightly and not from the same places regularly. And certainly avoid the water’s edge of the big lake. I will look further for you.
