1. In Dominican Republic (my home Country) there’s this traditional remedy called “Botella”, translation of Bottle. The uses of it depends on the user’s needs. It could be used for general health, energy boosting or sexual health. The common herbs that are used are Petiveria alliacea, Guaiacum officinale, Haematoxylum brasiletto and ginger. These herbs are mixed in alcohol, especially rum.
2. A few herbs that are sold at local farmers markets in Aruba are Neem, Wild sage and Lemongrass.
3. The Doctrine of Signatures is a concept from traditional herbal medicine that suggests that plants and herbs resemble the body parts, organs or ailments that they can treat. Sadly this concept is inadequate.
