Hi Lynn, Everyone,
I remember a couple of years ago, a friend of mine asked me if I ever just “layed” on the couch, doing absolutely nothing. My answer was no, and I must confess, I thought of him being lazy.
Shortly after I had a burn-out due to overworking. During this time I had a diet of a lot of laying on the couch, listening to music, walking in the neighborhood, and meditating.
For a long while I didn’t know how I had to listen to my body and mind. How to calm myself down and enjoy the sound of silence, the pure nothingness.
Now I go on frequent walks, and try to start my day with a short meditation, and some stretches, just to connect to me. Doing things without brining my phone with me is important too. And our bedroom is phone-free too. I have Tuesday evenings and Sundays labeled as “charge” days. Where doing absolutely nothing is an important thing to absolutely do.
