I’ve always loved the color and leaf shape of Ginkgo biloba. Never tried to eat their seeds, though! Magnolia is up there as well. Willows are also beautiful along the water, and as I’ve recently learned, their branches are useful for making all sorts of structure. Live willow fences or arches can also be made from branch cuttings. I’m not sure which ones are best, as it seems like there are two prominent varieties in the city. Not a fan of elm since it seems like they send shoots everywhere. But this is largely ignoring their medicinal purposes and edibility!
