I have made several salves and lip balms. I usually use sweet almond oil, jojoba oil(wax), and beeswax for base. The hardness is depending on season or usage. For example hand balms in winter are made with oil : beeswax = 8:1. They are smooth without water.
I have made a hand balm with cold infused calendula oil. The oil was infused for 2 weeks.
I will prepare cold infused calendula oil this autumn for making hand balms in this winter!
