As a yoga coach and teacher, I naturally do step 0, but this was not always the case. I am a recovering workaholic and over-achiever that did not know how to stop driving myself towards a perfection that didn’t exist. I made the decision to always prioritize my mental and physical health over everything else, and this decision has been transformative. I say no to engagements or opportunities if I don’t have the energy or time. Being more mindful and in tune with myself is more a mode of being now– always taking the time to stop and observe the body and what it is trying to communicate to me.
