Greetings fellow plant people! I’m Alice from Belgium/Denmark. I moved to Amsterdam 6 years ago. I live in the center, close to the Vijzelgracht metro. I’m on the lookout for good places to forage around here. It’s fairly busy traffic so I’m not sure that the soil plants are growing on is clean enough to eat them. I also volunteer at the moestuin growing vegetables at Stadsboerderij Osdorp, so I forage there as we do the weeding.
Over the past year or so I’ve been drawn to learn more about permaculture, caring plants, and growing food. I stumbled across Lynn’s foraging walk in April, and was enchanted to start distinguishing what looked like wild weeds to being able to learn their names, and their properties. As an apprentice, I’m very curious to learn more about medicinal properties, seasons, and spending more time in nature.
