Hey all, my name is Malin and I am living in the centrum of Amsterdam since a couple of years, a bit on off with travelling. I grew up with grandparents that loved to forage for mushrooms in Germany and since then have had a big fascination with it as well as learned on my own more about plants. Living in the city centre, it is pretty hard to find a foraging spot I have to say, given all the garbage (you have to put your trash out on the streets instead in separated trash cans), lots of dogs and overall not the let’s say “freshest green areas” – even though we got a new lovely little mini park next to the tram line. I tend to go to Spaarnwoude e.g. for the blackberries / nettles and serenity, usually you don’t meet that many people there and it’s a beautiful forest area.
