My name is Elie and I am an American living in Amsterdam Oost. My great grandmother was an herbalist midwife in New Mexico and I try to honor + connect with her and our lineage through my studies. Under Lynn’s tutelage, I have learned how to forage in nearby Park Frankendael, and it is helpful to read experiences of fellow apprentices across the city/country (glad I haven’t foraged in Flevopark!). I enjoy growing cuttings and would like to do more of this where needed. I should note my mom lives in Maastricht which has many foraging opportunities- field trip for the apprentices sometime?!
I know that foraging is not legal in the Netherlands, but it is tolerated. Small tub quantity at maximum! I try to remember that good foraging should be imperceptible.
