Like others here, I am vegetarian, and I realise it would probably be difficult to replace my diet with all foraged foods – even for a day in the summer! I do try to exercise my creativity by ordering an organic fruit and veg box, so that I am at least prompted to eat local, seasonal foods more often than I did before. There are so many vegetables besides bell pepper and courgette! I also recently read an interesting book by Akiva Silver, Trees of Power, about ways we can shift to eating tree crops instead of seasonal crops, which would be better for the earth and the climate because it decreases soil tillage and the release of carbon. That inspired me to look at the trees in our neighbourhood with more attention!
