Hi Sofija, Good findings. I suspect the Hornbeams which cling on to their leaves in winter, are actually Beech trees. Hornbeams look so similar but they drop in winter. They grow around the orchards here in Park Frankendael if you want to see the difference sometime. Beech tends to be grown for the clinging leaves on hedges and as huge parkland specimens also.
